Notice of Motion
Because it is difficult to organize annual elections to occur in January, and;
Because annual elections occurring in January means the Vancouver Local leave year does not line up with Canada Post’s leave year;
Be it resolved that annual elections occur in March rather than January, and the Vancouver bylaws be amended as follows:
Articles 9.1 C, 9.2 C and 9.3 C shall state:
Nominations and acceptances must be submitted by February 15th of the appropriate year.
Article 9.6 B shall state:
All voting for March annual elected positions shall be by electronic balloting.
Article 11.8 G shall state:
The Local Executive Committee, in conjunction with the officers shall establish a schedule of annual leave periods (April 1 to March 31) ensuring that service to the membership is maintained.
Article 11.8 G iii shall state:
Annual leave not used during the leave year it is earned must be used or paid out during the following annual leave year. If the leave year is not used in the course of that year, it shall be paid out as of March 31st at the rate it was earned.
