Motion 1: Presented by the member

“Whereas Amazon has decided to punish its workers in Laval Quebec for unionizing and to avoid having to negotiate a collective agreement by firing 1700 unionized warehouse workers and turning over deliveries to non-unionized subcontractors and

whereas this attack on unionized workers at Amazon is an attack on all unionized workers and the right to unionize in Canada

And whereas the affected workers have called for a national boycott of Amazon The following motion is proposed, that local 846 endorse the campaign to boycott Amazon and encourage our membership to participate in the campaign by unsubscribing from Prime, closing existing Amazon accounts and ceasing to order from Amazon.

Furthermore, that we support the demands of the Amazon workers to keep the warehouses open, the workers employed, respect union rights and make sure not another penny of public money goes to Amazon.

Finally, we call on our National Executive to endorse, support and promote this boycott among our membership throughout Canada additionally we ask that our National Executive demand that the government of Quebec and the Federal government intervene on behalf of the Laval Amazon Workers to save their jobs and punish Amazon for this egregious attempt at union-busting”

Motion 2: Presented by Local Secretary Treasurer

Whereas The2025/26 Budget needs time to properly be broken down to accumulate te proper fiscal entries for a proper budget, that is clear for the Membership.

Whereas There is currently no support from the Organizing Director Position for the Local Secretary Treasurer

Therefore, be it resolved that Article 6.5 (A) of the Vancouver Local Bylaws be suspended for the Local Secretary Treasurer to be made full time until the end of July 2025
