Responsibilities

Work with locals and regions to:
-
Support the efforts of community allies during the review of the Canadian Postal Service Charter and ensure that meetings with Members of Parliament and municipalities are conducted.

Support the labour movement’s campaign to maintain the Rand formula.

Provide assistance on the service reduction and expansion campaign as necessary.
-
Make postal service an issue in the next election.
-
Provide detailed reports on the aforementioned activities to the 1st National Vice-President and the 3rd National Vice President.

Work with CUPW’s communications and research department.

Qualifications

Ability to work well on own and with others

Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines

Strong writing skills
-
Strong organizing skills. Experience with community organizing or union organizing campaigns is an asset

Experience in and commitment to the labour or other social change movements
-
All applicants will be considered however bilingual is preferred (English and French)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and other computer programs.
