Pacific Region Course for Letter Carrier
Route Measurement Observers
March 18 to 22, 2015
(Letter to all locals from the Pacific Region)
“With Canada Post’s drive to restructure at least 21 Letter Carrier Depots in the Pacific Region in 2015 and with these restructures involving both Postal Transformation and the conversion of door-to-door delivery, the Region has obtained funding from the Education Budget-General Fund to provide an extra 5-day LCRMS course this year.
Unfortunately the funding they were able to obtain for this extra course will not include enough funding to cover lost wages so Locals will be responsible for the lost wages of participants.
With that in mind, priority for this extra course will be given to the Locals in the Lower Mainland as we will be holding a second 5-day LCRMS course in conjunction with the 3-day 2015 Spring Education in April.
Both these courses will be open to members who will be acting as union observers in your local’s upcoming restructures.
The participants will gain knowledge of route measurement so they can make the letter carrier route measurement system work to their best advantage; learn the role of a Union observer; and preparing the membership for the volume count and restructuring exercises.
The course will be held at the Inn at the Quay in New Westminster from March 18 to March 22, 2015.”
Please note: all applications must come through the Vancouver Local office and be signed by a Local executive member. Deadline for applications is at the close of business February 9, 2014.
